United States of Japan Wins a Seiun!

Well, do we have good news for you!

Peter Tieryas’ Under States of Japan has won Japan’s most prestigious science fiction award, the Seiun!

The award, which was given for ‘best translated novel’, fought off stiff competition from the likes of Ken Liu and Ann Leckie. Congratulations to all, with extra special party poppers pointed in the direction of translator Naoya Nakahara, for his incredible translation work.

We have a most excellent announcement straight from your Robot Overlords, circulating high on their orbital death platform: some of our lovely, lovely books are now available to those hard of sight, in both large print formate and braille.

Currently 36 of our favourite titles are available both in braille and large print (in a variety of text sizes/boldness) so we can spread more of our lovely books to the world.

United States of Japan Invades Czechia and Spain

United States of Japan by Peter Tieryas has already invaded the publishing houses of China and Japan and now its global reach expands again, with publishing rights sold to both Czechia (the former Czech Republic) and Spain.

The Czechia rights have been sold to Argo which is, interestingly enough, the Czechia publisher of Philip K Dick. Expect publication in spring 2017, folks.

Spanish rights were sold to Ediciones B, and publication will also be spring 2017.

United States of Japan by Peter TieryasRights have already been sold to Japan and now hot on their heels China have scooped up translation rights for United States of Japan, Peter Tieryas‘ highly-praised alt-history with mecha. New Star Press, a publishing house renowned for their science fiction classics and new titles alike, as well as some excellent World of Warcraft and Assassin’s Creed tie-ins, will be publishing Tieryas’ novel in translation in early 2017.
