The Outside Heads to Czech Republic

Well, we’ve got some brilliant news for Czech-based fans of weird Lovecraftian horror and ‘big idea’ sci-fi: Ada Hoffmann‘s The Outside will be published in the Czech Republic!

The deal was made with publisher Triton to bring Ada’s The Outside to fans, who can expect to see a Czech version in the novel within 18 months.

The Traitor God in Translation

The Traitor God by Cameron JohnstonWe’ve got some great news for our buddies over in Europe! Excellent grimdark novel The Traitor God by Cameron Johnston is going to be translated into both Hungarian and Czech!

In Hungary the translation rights have been acquired by Főnix Könyvműhely, with the book being published sometime within the next year. Czech folks will see the translation published by Euromedia Group sometime within the next two.

United States of Japan Invades Czechia and Spain

United States of Japan by Peter Tieryas has already invaded the publishing houses of China and Japan and now its global reach expands again, with publishing rights sold to both Czechia (the former Czech Republic) and Spain.

The Czechia rights have been sold to Argo which is, interestingly enough, the Czechia publisher of Philip K Dick. Expect publication in spring 2017, folks.

Spanish rights were sold to Ediciones B, and publication will also be spring 2017.

Angry Robot’s parent company, Osprey Group, employs a friendly team of about 50 staff in their offices in west Oxford, and is now looking for a bright individual to fill the role of Rights Executive.

The primary purpose of this role is to maximise revenue at optimum profit by repurposing and licensing Osprey Group’s intellectual property to third parties whilst extending and protecting the integrity of the group’s brands.

Key responsibilities will include:

• licensing the three fiction lists for translation, dramatization and audio
• managing permissions, in collaboration with AKG Images
