ECCC was GREAT! Thank you all!

You might be able to tell from our zombiesque countenance we’ve been at Emerald City Comicon this past weekend, and OH BOY did we have a great time!

Thanks to everyone who came to see us, bought books, entertained us, and to our wonderful authors Jay Posey, Danielle L. Jensen, Peter Tieryas, KC Alexander and the dream team Adam Rakunas and Patrick S. Tomlinson for being so fabulous all weekend. Most of all, huge fist bumps to Mike Underwood and Jay Swanson for working themselves into the

Angry Robot Invades B&N’s SF & F Blog

Xmas_AngstromHo, ho, ho! Merry (almost) Christmas!

Although for eleven months of the year we are angry, seething robots, threatening to overthrow earth’s puny leaders and instil some cybernetic terror from our orbital death platform, we’re actually pretty merry when it comes to the holidays.

I mean, look at Angstrom’s excellent Santa hat. Nothing screams ‘Joyeux Noël’ like a robot wearing a jolly hat, eh?

Do you know what else gets us in the holiday mood? Offering you guys something a little bit different.

Ark Attack Competition!

What do you do once you’ve finished reading a much loved novel? Keep it in a bookshelf and gaze at it each day? Store it by your bed so you can re-read it each night before you disappear into dreamland? Or do you bury it in the garden?

The last one sounds a little odd, doesn’t it? Well, if you’re readers of Patrick S Tomlinson‘s The Ark it might not be so strange. In the spirit of Pat’s other job – as a stand up comedian – his friends have taken to social media to express their love for his novel by

Angry Robot Author signings

Our Robot Authors are out and about in force over the next couple of weeks, with signings across the US. It might be getting cold outside but hey, what could be a better reason for leaving your house than seeing your favourite author and munching on some nibbles? Nothing. That’s what.

Check below for signings, readings and Q&A spots for James A Moore, Carrie Patel and Patrick S Tomlinson. Various authors will also be attending World Fantasy Con this weekend but that’s a story for another post.

James A Moore. He rocks!

Angry Robot at GenCon

Dear Robot Legions, let me tell you a story about a young cyborg.

Years ago, before I was assimilated into the Angry Robot collective and fitted with the Sales-and-Marketing-o-Tron-9000 system, I was a mere gamer, spending evenings and weekends at my local game store, first as a regular, then as a cashwrap monkey.

Each summer, one thing loomed on the horizon and came to dominate every conversation:

GenCon

For those that don’t know, GenCon is the largest gaming convention in the USA, and is the height of the gaming world’s season. But even if you know about GenCon, you might

Angry Robot Does CONvergence

A dispatch from our own Robot-at-Large, Mike Underwood:

“The first week of July, Phil Jourdan and I strapped into our Robot Rockets and hurtled through the sky toward the Twin Cities for CONvergence, an excellent fan-run convention totalling around 7000 fabulous fans. But we were far from alone. Seven of our intrepid authors joined us for a weekend of spreading the word about All Things Angry and Robotic.

Anne Lyle, Alyc Helms, Carrie Patel, Craig Cormick, Ishbelle Bee, Patrick S Tomlinson, and Wesley Chu (a CONvergence Guest of Honor!) formed our Angry Robot author detachment for the weekend, speaking

Angry Robot at CONvergence

Screen Shot 2015-06-24 at 10.37.46

It’s almost CONvergence time! On 2 – 5 July, a happy bunch of Robots will be descending on CONvergence in Bloomington MN, to take part in a whole host of fun activities including panels, signings, readings, catching up with friends and saying howdy to fans.

We know from experience that, between watching hordes of cosplay fans rushing to a couture show and checking out that wonderful panel discussion you’ve been hearing about, it can be easy to
