Cameron Tan wouldn’t have even been in Greece if he hadn’t gotten a ‘D’ in Art History. Instead of spending the summer after college completing his training as a Prophus operative, he’s doing a study program in Greece, for once enjoying normal fun activities – spending time with friends and getting teased about his crush on a classmate.

Then the emergency notification comes in: a Prophus agent with vital information needs immediate extraction, and Cameron is the only agent on the ground, responsible for getting the other agent and data out of the country. The Prophus are relying on him to uncomplicate things. Except that when Tao is around, things have a tendency to get complicated very quickly indeed.

Goodreads URL Read and Discuss The Days of Tao

“I had a fun time with this book and it left me wanting more and more from Chu set in this universe full of ancient aliens. The Days of Tao was long enough to scratch that itch, but too short to completely satisfy me, and now I’m left hanging out for The Rise of Io. If you are a fan of the series I think you will get a real kick out of this book.”
– Ryan Lawler for Fantasy Book Review

“If you were looking for a good example of Wesley Chu’s style of work, then I would recommend this novella to you.”

Wesley Chu’s best friend is Michael Jordan, assuming that best friend status is earned by a shared television commercial. If not, then his best friend is his dog, Eva, who he can often be seen riding like a trusty steed through the windy streets of Chicago. In 2014, Wesley Chu was shortlisted for the John W Campbell Best New Writer Award, which he won in 2015. His debut, The Lives of Tao, earned him a Young Adult Library Services Association Alex Award and a Science Fiction Goodreads Choice Award Finalist slot. The sequel, The Deaths of Tao, continues the story of secret agent Roen Tan and his sarcastic telepathically bonded alien, Tao. The final in the series, The Rebirths of Tao…well you’ll have to read it to find out. The Rise of Io, the start of a new series set in the Tao universe was released in October 2016. In 2015 Chu released Time Salvager, wherein time travelling chronman James brings one fated to die back to the future with him. Time Salvager is published by Tor (USA/R.o.W) and Angry Robot (UK). The sequel, Time Siege, was published in July 2016. Wesley is currently also writing Shadowhunter tie-in fiction with author Cassandra Clare, focusing on popular character Magnus Bane.
