Because of the size of the novel and the space that kanji text takes up, Peter Tieryas’ superlative alt-history epic United States of Japan will be published in two volumes in its Japanese translation. They’re coming soon from Hayakawa, who as you can see have commissioned the mighty John Liberto to revisit the mecha-policed streets of Los Angeles, 198-something across a pair of matching covers. Very metal, totally gorgeous.
