Our very own Matthew De Abaitua, author of If Then and The Destructives, will be giving a free talk this Thursday, April 21 at the University of Essex. He’ll be discussing the popularity of stories concerning the end of our civilization and the responsibility of science fiction writers in a catastrophic age. Not only an author, Matthew is also a lecturer at the university, compelling speaker and general all round super interesting guy. He will also be reading from his two books, so this event is a must for scholars and fans alike!
Once again, this event is completely free, so you should definitely come and join us on the first floor Special Collections Reading Room of the Albert Sloman Library from 19:00 to 21:00 for a night of fun.
