ByShe’s a talented lady, that Lauren Beukes. Not only is Zoo City even better than her debut, Moxyland, but she’s managed a team of talented individuals to create an atmospheric mood trailer for the book.
Now if only you didn’t have to wait until September to read it…*

If by “team” you mean @wombatsam, yep indeed. Sam put the whole thing together using Joey Hi-Fi’s amazing cover illustration, my Hillbrow research trip cellphone photos plus two Joburg skyline pics we found on Flickr Creative Commons (Thanks KemptonReporter and NJR ZA) and Markus Wormstorm’s very appropriate and beautiful track, Junkle. Most admirable of all, Sam even put up with me backseat-driving in the edit.
